The National Day closure just ended — and the document hall is closed again on Monday, October 12. Check the date before you head out to file or pick up.

The bottom line: the Chinese Consulate in Los Angeles' document hall will be closed on Monday, October 12, 2026. This comes from the Consulate's September 15, 2026 notice, which suspended service for October 1–5 and October 12. The National Day closure (Oct 1–5) is over — don't overlook next Monday.
The document hall has a pattern: Mondays, Fridays, and the first working day after any closure are the busiest. October 12 falls on a Monday closure, making October 13 the first working day after the closure — a full day of backlogged cases plus normal Tuesday traffic. Expect the longest line that day.
If your schedule is flexible, skip October 13 and aim for October 14–16 instead. Going mid-week is the easiest way to avoid the peak.
